The year 2011 is the first year of the founding of the Republic of South Sudan and also the fortieth anniversary of the first batch of Chinese medical team to South Sudan. From 1971 to 1985, China had dispatched a cumulative total number of 15 batches totaling 344 medical staff to provide medical treatment in Juba, Wau and Malakal in South Sudan. Since its participation in UN peacekeeping operation in South Sudan from 2005, China has sent a military medical team to Wau.
The photographs in this exhibition show the scences when Chinese medical staff carried out medical treatment in South Sudan and made friendly communications with local people, which recreate the history that passes from mouth to mouth among people in South Sudan and provide us a more clear context of their mutual friendly communications.
