Amb. MA Qiang attends the Ceremony of Donation by the CNPC to the University of Juba

On March 26, Amb. MA Qiang attended the handover ceremony of computers and UPS equipment donated by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) to the University of Juba. The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Lu Jiangbo, President of CNPC (Nile), Prof. Robert Mayom Deng, Vice Chancellor of the University of Juba, and Eng. Arkangelo Okwang Oler, Director General for Planning Training and Research of the Ministry of Petroleum.

In his remarks, Amb. MA pointed out that the development of China-South Sudan relations is inseparable from the efforts of Chinese companies including the CNPC, which have deeply cultivated the pragmatic cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized that as a reliable friend and a staunch supporter of South Sudan, China has been and will continue to provide necessary assistance as its ability allows in promoting the humanitarian conditions, advancing the peace process, and enhancing the self-development capabilities of South Sudan.

Mr. Lu said on behalf of the CNPC that at the time of economic challenges, the CNPC reiterates its commitment to conducting cooperation with the Ministry of Petroleum and to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility proactively.

Prof. Robert Mayom Deng and Eng. Arkangelo Okwang Oler thanked the CNPC for its generous donation and stressed that the government and people of South Sudan will continue to develop cooperation with China and deepen bilateral friendship.
