Chinese Embassy in Juba Hosts Reception Celebrating the 74th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China

On Sept. 26, 2023, the Reception Celebrating the 74th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China was held in the Chinese Embassy in Juba. Chinese Ambassador H.E. MA Qiang, South Sudan's Minister of Presidential AffairsHon. Barnaba Marial Benjamin, and Secretary-General of SPLM Hon. Peter Lam Both as well as other South Sudanese government officials, friends and representatives of the Chinese community attended the reception.

Amb. MA Qiang pointed out in his speech that over the past 74 years, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, China has created miracles of rapid economic development and long-term social stability that have rarely been seen in world history. China is now marching confidently toward the second centenary goal of building a modern socialist country in all respects.

Amb. MA stressed that no matter how the international situation has evolved, China and South Sudan have always adhered to the spirit of China-Africa friendship and cooperation featuring sincere friendship and equality, win-win for mutual benefit and common development, fairness and justice, progress with the times, and openness and inclusiveness. Looking ahead, China is willing to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning with all countries including South Sudan, to better converge modernity and tradition, explore an inclusive and a new form of human advancement, and jointly build a bright shared future for mankind.

South Sudan’s Minister of Presidential Affairs Hon. Barnaba Marial Benjamin, on behalf of H.E.President Salva Kiir Mayardit as well as the South Sudanese government and people, congratulated the People’s Republic of China on celebrating its 74th birthday. He spoke highly of China's remarkable development achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, highly appreciated China's peaceful foreign policy featuring non-interference in other countries' internal affairs, and sincerely thanked China for respecting the independent choice of the development path of the South Sudanese people and always supporting its peace process and economic and social development. He expressed the commitment of the South Sudanese government to further deepening practical cooperation with China in various fields to benefit the two peoples.
