He said that since the deployment of the 3rd CHNBATT last December, they have always born in mind their mission, tackled difficulties and hardships, and advanced in a pioneering spirit. They properly grappled with the complicated and grave security situation in mission area and accomplished various missions assigned by UNMISS. All such efforts have brought into full play the good image of both UN peacekeepers and Chinese army, and made active contributions to promoting peace in South Sudan and the friendship between the peoples of South Sudan and China. “China is firmly committed to safeguarding world peace and security, and is ready to make further contribution to UN peacekeeping missions,” Ambassador He stressed.

At present, China is the second largest financial contributor to UN peacekeeping operations, and send the most peacekeepers among the permanent members of UN Security Council. China has fully demonstrated its image as a responsible power by actively participating in UN peacekeeping operations,” Mr. Soumaré pointed out.
